It might be hard to believe, but Back to the Future celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. To kick off the festivities, Lego has unveiled a new DeLorean time machine set as part of the Lego Speed Champions line. Priced at $28, it's now available to preorder ahead of its release on January 1, 2026.

This little 357-piece set is designed to be a quick project, and it comes with minifigures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown. Both of the film characters can be placed inside the DeLorean, and the finished vehicle is full of screen-accurate details like bricks that echo the stainless steel finish of the original vehicle, a flux capacitator in the rear, and a lightning rod that's waiting to be zapped with 1.21 gigawatts of energy. You can also build a few other pieces to place on the DeLorean, and once you flip the wheels down, you'll have a cute replica of the version seen in Back to the Future 2.

Lego Icons: DeLorean Time Machine (1,827pieces)

The new DeLorean set is cute, but for high-end collectors, the Lego Icons DeLorean is the kit to get. This is a far larger build at 1,872 pieces, but the end result is a work of movie art. This version allows you to customize the DeLorean to look just like the one seen in the three Back to the Future movie. The first option has the rod and Plutonium chamber, the first sequel DeLorean has a flight mode and the Mr. Fusion generation, and the DeLorean from Back to the Future 3 is complete once you add whitewall tires, a circuit board, and interchangeable license plates.

Lego is just one way to celebrate this fan-favorite franchise, as the 40th Anniversary Back to the Future Steelbook Edition 4K Blu-ray Collection is now available. Sadly, Amazon's exclusive Limited Edition Gift Set remains sold out for now, but you can get the films individually for $25 - $30 each. Each Blu-ray edition comes with 4K Blu-ray, 1080p, and digital versions of their respective films and new cover art inspired by the original Drew Struzan posters. They also feature a ton of bonus materials, adding several hours of behind-the-scenes documentaries, commentary tracks, and much more to the package. All three movies also support Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound.
